Everything you might want to know before you take her on. If your question isn't here, write to us at hello@lamplitpost.com. A real person answers.
Is this real mail?
Yes. Paper, envelope, stamp, your mailbox. Every envelope is printed, folded and packed by hand in Pocatello, Idaho.
Can I write back?
No, and that's the heart of the story. Eliza can tell you anything because you can't answer. Please don't send mail to the school. It's a work of fiction, and no real person is waiting on a reply. (You can always write to us about your order, of course.)
Who is it for?
Adults and older teens who love a slow story with secrets in it. There is magic, a romance kept to a kiss, real danger and real loss. Nothing explicit.
When do the letters come?
Envelopes leave around the 1st and the 15th of each month. Allow about a week to reach you. Your first envelope goes out with the next mailing after you join, as long as you join at least three days before it.
Will I start in the middle?
Never. Everyone begins at Letter 1, whenever they join.
How many letters are there?
Eliza's first year is 24 envelopes, two a month for twelve months. The whole year is already written.
What is founding week?
Now through Sunday, October 25, the first 100 Keepers pay half with the code FOUNDING: $7.50 a month for the first three months of Monthly, or $78 for the Full Year, for yourself or as a gift.
Can I cancel?
Yes, yourself, any time, from your account or the link in your receipt. Monthly plans renew each month until you cancel. Half a Year and the Full Year are paid once and never renew.
What if I don't like it?
Read her first two letters. If she isn't for you, tell us within 30 days of the second one being mailed, and we'll refund you in full. The letters are yours to keep.
Can I try it before I subscribe?
Yes, two ways. Read the whole first letter free right here, or order the First Envelope for $9 and hold it in your hands. If you then choose a plan within 30 days of it being mailed, write "I have the first envelope" in the order note. We'll refund the $9 and start your plan at Letter 2, so nothing comes twice.
Can I give it as a gift?
Yes, and it's one of our favorite things. Choose a gift on the Gifts page, put their address as the shipping address, and write your message in the order note. It can start with the next mailing, or the one after. Then make and print the gift card to wrap. Nothing in the mail shows the price.
How early should I order a gift?
Order at least three days before a mailing (around the 1st and 15th) for her first letter to go out with it. Cutting it close for a birthday or holiday? Print the gift card the moment you order, and her letters begin with the next mailing. Gifts are paid once and never renew, and she never needs an account or a card on file.
What if a letter doesn't arrive?
Tell us if it hasn't come ten days after its mail date, and we'll mail that same letter again, free.
Do you ship outside the US?
Not yet. US addresses only for now.
Why are the letters blurred in some photos?
So we don't spoil anything. Letter 1 is yours to read in full. Every letter after it holds something you should read for yourself, in order, at your own kitchen table.
